Hundreds of youth organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday, August 13, stormed the party’s headquarters in Accra to pick up presidential nomination forms for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The group, clad in NPP-branded attire, sang patriotic songs and chanted slogans as they marked International Youth Day with the symbolic gesture.
Isaac Obeng, NPP Youth Organiser, Okwaikwei South who spoke on behalf of the youth organizers stated the rationale behind their decision.
“We are here today to pick the form for our incoming president, Insha Allah, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. We believe this is a gift to him”, Mr. Obeng shared.
Obeng described the moment as a celebration of youth and a show of unity across constituencies.
“You can see here representatives of youth organisers from various constituencies. From here, we will move to his residence to officially present the forms to him”, he informed press men and women that were gathered at the NPP’s headquarters.
He expressed confidence in Bawumia’s leadership, stating, “We know that, Insha Allah, this day is the day Ghana’s destiny will be rewritten.”
The event follows a similar move on August 5, when some NPP MPs picked nomination forms for Kennedy Agyapong ahead of the party’s January 31, 2026 presidential primaries.
