The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo has pledged to fix the street light issue that has become a major problem in Accra and its environs.

Linda Akweley Ocloo told reporters that the issue of street lights in the region is top on her agenda and will personally make sure that darkness in Accra at night will be a thing of the past.

The newly sworn in Regional Minister stated that 70 percent of faulty street lights in Accra will be fixed within 50 days.

“All these things will be fixed in no time. Within 50 days in office we will make sure that at least 70 percent of the faulty streetlights have all been fixed,” Linda Akweley Ocloo said.

She added that measures will be put in place to curb the influx of hawkers on the street as part of efforts to ease traffic in the city.

“We are going to enforce the law. We will use the task force of the MMDA’s and the security forces to make sure that hawkers do not flood our streets.”
