The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for its good works so far and has urged the Commission to continue with its good work in the general elections which will come off on December, 7th.

The NPP’s Director of Elections, Evans Nimako, speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show noted that the party was very impressed with how the EC has been able to execute its work despite stiff opposition from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He observed that from the start of the compilation of the new voters’ register to the conducting of the special voting, the EC has done a commendable work.

“It is important the election taskforce sees to it that the work is done well. What we will say is that the EC has done very well. From the time they decided to compile a new voters’ register, the NDC was against their decision but the EC was firm.

Just some days ago, we all saw the special voting that took place and how EC conducted it with its machines and officers as well as the comportment of all stakeholders. The turnout was huge. So what I can say is that so far the EC has done well. It must continue its good work on Dec 7th to bring development to the country”, he said.

On December 7th 2020, Ghanaians will go to the polls to elect a president and parliamentary members to steer the affairs of the country.

The Electoral Commission is the official body responsible for this general elections.
