The Ministry of Youth and Sports has congratulated the national U-20 men’s team after winning the WAFU Zone B U-20 tournament in Benin.

The Black Satellites defeated the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso by 2-1 to win its first title in the sub-regional tournament.

Ghana had to come from behind to win the game after Burkina Faso had taken an early lead through Kouame Jean Fiacre Botue in the 15th minute of the first half.

Ghana responded swiftly and got back on level terms through captain, Daniel Afriyie Barnie who latched onto a free-kick by Precious Boah and scored in the 40th minute to make it one all before the break.

Precious Boah won the game for the Black Satellites with his free kick in the 79th minute.

Ghana held onto the lead and clinched the WAFU Zone B U-20 trophy with a 2-1 win against its neighbouring country, Burkina Faso.

The Sports Ministry after the game has congratulated the youth side for the triumph.

Ghana will head into the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to be held in Mauritania as champions of the WAFU Zone B.
