Year in year out, citizens of the world make resolutions for the coming year and the outgoing Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency was no exception as the world approached 2020.

According to him, the new year resolution he made us he entered 2020 was for him to regain the mandate to lead the people of the Adentan Constituency but this dream could not be realised.

The Director of Communications for the NPP in an interview with Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9 FM’s Epa Hoa Daben political talk show said,
“I did not meet all the plans I had for 2020 but I have life and that is the most important for me now. I was expecting my constituents to vote for me after the election for me to retain my seat but sadly, that did not happen”.

The politician described his loss as the possible outcome of every election.
“Anything can happen in an election but we always hope of winning and not losing but that didn’t happen for me. Now, I have to move on and support my party”, he told Sefah-Danquah.

To him, losing his seat does not mean the Akufo-Addo administration cannot function. “Winning doesn’t mean the NPP must have MPs in all the constituencies but the populace giving the President the nod for him to continue his good works is enough”.

He appreciated the people of the Adentan Constituency for supporting him and the NPP till now and urged them to keep supporting the President.

Over eventy-eight (78) MPs of the NPP will not return to the eighth (8) parliament. Some of these MPs lost at the parliamentary elections on December 7 2020, others lost at the party’s primaries with others voluntarily retiring.

The incumbent MP, Yaw Buaben Asamoa of the NPP lost the Adentan seat to Mohammed Adamu Ramadan of the NDC.

Mohammed manged to poll 63,436 votes to beat Yaw Buaben Asamoa who managed 49, 255 votes.
