Kwame Opoku’s strike cancelled Daniel Lomotey’s first-half goal as WAFA and Asante Kotoko played a 1-1 draw in this matchday nine fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The game saw the two current contenders for the Ghana Premier League goal king scoring for their respective clubs.

WAFA’s Daniel Lomotey broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with a beautiful chip as Razak Abalorah was off his line and the ball went into the net.

Asante Kotoko nearly got the equalizer few minutes later as Kwame Poku’s strike was saved by the WAFA goalkeeper.

WAFA went into the break leading the tie by 1-0.

After recess, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalorah was tested once again in the 55th minute but he saved the situation to deny the homeside a second goal.

Kotoko star Fabio Gama came close to getting the equalizer for the away side but his shot was feeble and could not trouble the WAFA goalkeeper.

Kwame Poku finally got the equalizer for Asante Kotoko in the 63rd minute as his shot went straight into the net.

His sixth goal in the ongoing season for the Porcupine Warriors.

The two sides failed to convert their chances created in the game as the referee blew his whistle to end proceedings with the points shared accordingly.
