ES Setif came from behind to hand Asante Kotoko another defeat at home in their Africa campaign this season.

Setif have secured a 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko in this first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup play-off at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko opened the scoring in the 69th minute through their marksman Kwame Poku with his sublime finish.

ES Setif got the equalizer few minutes later through substitute Mohammed Amoura with a nice header into the net.

The Algerians after getting the equalizer settled in the game as they pushed to score more goals.

Setif got the important goal in the 81st minute from a counter attack as Kendouci Mohammed made it 2-1 for the away side to win the game.

The Porcupine Warriors were awarded a penalty after the ball was adjudged to have hit the hand of a Setif defender in the box.

Naby Keita’s spot kick was saved by the Setif goalkeeper to deny the home side the needed equalizer.

The Porcupine Warriors have lost their last two CAF Inter-club games this season at home to Al Hilal of Sudan in the Champions League and now to ES Setif in the Confederation Cup.

Kotoko will travel to Algeria for the second leg in a week’s time.
