Asante Kotoko ended their four-game winless run against King Faisal with a 1-0 win in this matchday 15 fixture played at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

Kotoko needed to win this game to keep the chase on league leaders Karela United after dropping points against Elmina Sharks last week.

The first chance of the game came up in the ninth minute as Mudasiru Salifu saw his effort go wide off target for a goal kick.

King Faisal were close to the lead as Elvis Nyarko (Faisal) goes for the kill from the edge of our box, but shoots off-target.

Kwadwo Frimpong missed the post by inches as his effort went off target in the 31st minute.

Augustine Okrah was replaced by Fabio Gama in the 33rd minute after picking up an injury,

The first half ended with both side going into the break with the spoil shared.

Substitute Naby Keita came in for Patrick Asmah in the 69th minute of the second half.

Keita broke the deadlock in the 84th minute as he latched onto a pass inside the box and dribbled a defender before planting a low left-footed shot into the far post.

The Porcupine Warriors held on to the lead to end their four-game winless run.

The result sees Kotoko moving to 4th on the Ghana Premier League table while King Faisal stays put in the relegation zone.
