The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa says Ghanaians are pleased with the work of the ruling government, especially in measures put in place to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and its recovery plans.

“The work we have been doing has been recognizable and game-changing. We have been people-centred and nothing more during this era of COVID-19. We are not suffering from COVID-19 like before and we are fighting Covid to the end”, he stated.

According to him, the party will keep doing the good work of making Ghana better especially in this era of COVID-19. “We’ve been doing the work of the people and invested in education, job creation and security”.

On his authority, Ghanaians and the NDC warned them of the outcome of the December 7 polls but “the citizenry is excited with our work and needs us more. If Ghanaians wanted us out of power, they wouldn’t have helped us win the election with over 500,000 votes. The Ghanaian love what is going on and want us to continue with our work”.

He made this known in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Don Kwabena Prah on the Epa Hoa Daben political talk show.

The Ghana CARES (Obaatan pa) programme is an unprecedented, bold and audacious GHȻ100 billion post-COVID programme to stabilize, revitalize and transform Ghana’s economy to create jobs and prosperity for Ghanaians over a three-year period. It is sequenced in two phases: a Stabilization Phase that is running from July to the end of the year (2020); and a medium-term Revitalization Phase from 2021-2023.

The first phase of the programme builds on the actions already taken by the Government under the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme, including stabilization of the economy, ensuring food security, support businesses and workers, strengthening the health system and passage of legislation to facilitate quick economic recovery.

The second phase aims at revitalizing and transforming the economy from 2021-2023 will focus on supporting commercial farming and attracting educated youth into agriculture, building Ghana’s light manufacturing sector, developing engineering/machine tools and ICT/digital economy, developing Ghana’s housing and construction industry, reviewing and optimizing the implementation of Government flagships and key programmes among others.
