Speaking on the issue of suicide with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, he said: “If we reduce the pressure we give to our young girls and boys on social media, it will be helpful. Someone may be earning 700 Ghana Cedis a month, then they will buy a dress, buy hair, shoe which cost about 10,000 Ghana cedis then they will post it on social media. Our young girls will see these things and will want to go through every means possible to get access to some of these things”.

He added that many young ones consider some social media influencers as role models and as such if these influencers give wild imaginations of what life should be like, then the youth will be sent into a state of depression.

He thus advised, “We should begin to understand that success in life is not dependent on the most expensive material things we can acquire”.

Meanwhile he has advised the young ones not to live life to impress others.

A suicide attempt is an attempt to die by suicide that results in survival. It may be referred to as a failed suicide attempt, though this term is discouraged by psychologists for implying a suicide that results in death is a successful and positive outcome. The American Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines an attempt as follows: “A suicide attempt is when someone harms themselves with any intent to end their life, but they do not die as a result of their actions.
