Sixty-two percent (62%) of Ghanaians say the Akufo-Addo led government cannot curb corruption and impunity, especially by state officials.

This was revealed by a post-election survey result by Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana).

Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo reacting to the survey argues its authenticity, and claims respondents of the CDD questionnaire were members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“When the CDD sent out the questionnaire, they encountered a majority of NDC party faithfuls and the 62 percent who say Akuf-Addo cannot fight corruption are all NDC people. Maybe all the people they met, the 62 percent are NDC people and that is it,” he stated.

According to him the research is not a true reflection of the situation on the ground. “When you conduct such a survey with sampling, you may not always get the results right,” he told Don Kwabena Prah on the Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben political talk show.

To him, Ben Ephson also uses the sampling strategy and most times misses the mark in his election prediction. “The sampling method is not scientific,” he argued.

Kofi Akpaloo insists President Akufo-Addo is doing well and has made some strides in fighting corruption in Ghana and must be praised rather than being vilified.

“Do we want to ruin Ghana by agreeing with the CDD report? I don’t agree with the research. The gov’t is doing a lot to fight corruption, institutions have been setup to fight corruption and have also been resourced,” he added.

The politician advised the CDD to learn from the Auditor-General’s report, describing it as scientific and worth emulating.
