Ghanaian Pastor/Spiritualist, Apostle Adjei Boafour, also known as Sunsum Kese3, has explained why he allows libation to be poured at his church.

Unlike a lot of churches which frown on the act, the man of God expressed that he is in support of the act, and actually practices it with his church.

In an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9 FM’s NsemPii Show, he said, “I am a pastor and spiritualist and what we all do is to deal with and dive into things of the spirit. Just as all pastors have their doctrines and beliefs, I and my church also believe in the pouring of libation, and that works for us.”

He stated that, they pour libation as a way of respect, a sign of recognition and surrendering all they have to God.

He disclosed that, members of his church are required to come to church with a bottle of schnapp and sometimes a goat to pray and perform sacrifices.

“Even children partake in this ritual and you will be amazed at the number of testimonies we have had from doing this,” he said.

Sunsum Kese3 noted some people might relate this act to traditional worship but, “We are not traditional worshippers although we believe in the traditional way of worship. We are Christians and whenever we perform this exercise, we take all our scriptures from the Bible.”

Citing an example from the Bible, he said, “Even Christ poured libation and how much more those of us who are his followers. We follow the directions of the Bible when pouring libation because even in the days of Jesus, they poured libation before making a request.”

He highlighted that, there is nothing wrong in pouring libation and if only other pastors will give it a try, they will testify to its effectiveness.
