Real Tamale United are struggling to financially their trip to Cape Coast to play their week 26 fixture against Elmina Sharks this weekend in the Ghana Premier League.

The Tamale-based side are currently in the relegation zone despite beating league leaders Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Sunday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Head coach of the team Shaibo Tanko in an interview disclosed that financial problems has been a big problem to the team all season which is affecting their performance.

He revealed that sometimes the team has to make a long trip from the North to the South to honor games just 24 hours to kick off.

Coach Tanko is unhappy about how the financial problems is affecting his team in the ongoing season as they battle to retain their Premier League status.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, Coach Tanko revealed that the technical team is currently dealing with a problem among the players after bonuses and allowances were paid to the team by an aide to Ibrahim Mahama, President of the Club.

According to him, the monies paid have generated a lot of issues due to the disclosure of amounts received by the players per their contracts they signed.

He disclosed that some players who were not playing regularly received huge salaries than some active players which seems to have caused some sort of dissatisfaction among the playing squad.

According to reports, the management and technical team have also not been paid for the past nine months.

RTU will play their next game against Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium on Sunday.
