Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah has expressed the Club’s readiness to open it’s doors to Asamoah Gyan.

Asamoah Gyan has never hidden his admiration for the Porcupine Warriors and has in the past indicated his readiness to play for them.

“I would like to play for Asante Kotoko if the need be for me to return to playing football again. Everyone knows I am a huge fan of the club” he said.

According to Nana Yaw Amponsah, Kotoko engaged Asamoah Gyan when he decided to join the local league but could not finalize on a deal.

“Asamoah Gyan Knows how long I’ve been waiting for him to wear the Kotoko jersey. I have tried once but it was difficult to get him and we will keep trying at the right time and when he’s ready, he knows the doors will be open for him. Until he retires, we’ll keep pushing to get him on board”

Asante Kotoko currently sits on top of the Ghana Premier league with 7 games to spare and a 9 points gap, they are hoping to clinch the league and represent the Country at the CAF Champions League.

“Imagine Asamoah Gyan leading the attack of Asante Kotoko at the CAF Champions League together with Mbella and Mfegue on either side of him.If it’s one match he will play for us, he should make us proud” Nana Yaw Amponsah added

In the 2020/21 season, Gyan return to the Ghana Premier League but joined Legon Cities where he played just six matches after being blighted by injuries.
