A marine science graduate of the University of Ghana, Isaac Kwame Addae, has stated his willingness to take any job offered to him as long as it provides food on the table.

On Tuesday, July 5, Isaac took to the streets as a last resort, holding a placard with his name, qualifications, and the plight of looking for work.

A photo of Isaac went viral on various social media platforms, with many people sympathising with the young man and many others having something to say.

During an interview on the Happy Morning Show [HMS] with Raynond Nyamador he explained what prompted him to take such drastic action.

“I graduated from university four years ago, and the number of applications I’ve sent out is uncountable at this point. I haven’t been sitting around hoping for a miracle. I’ve put in the hours and tried everything I could think of, but all to no avail,” he explained.

Following further discussion, the graduate stated that he had completed his National Service and stayed in Accra for a year in the hopes of finding work, but it had all been for nought.
“I live in the Central Region, and after graduating during the 2017/18 academic year, I did my National Service at the University of Ghana Commonwealth Library the following year. All this time, I’ve been relying on my single mother, who doesn’t have much and sometimes has to borrow just to get me from where we live to Accra.” Isaac explained.

Isaac Addae revealed that he had received several calls from well-wishers and people offering him jobs since the photo went viral.
