Where Are They?: Muntari’s impact has influenced my decision to return to active football- Francis Coffie

Former Asante Kotoko forward, Francis Coffie says he is likely to return to active football because of Sulley Muntari.

According to him, he is inspired by the performance of the former Black Stars midfielder’s career with Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League last season.

Sulley Muntari joined The Phobians on a six-month contract and won two titles during the process.

Cofie who is currently without a club after leaving Sudanese side Al-Merrikh SC in 2016 is hoping to bounce back.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s Where Are They program and why he is yet to hang his boot, he said, “The main reason why I considered returning to active football is because of Sulley Muntari.

“Looking at the impact he is having on the club and the Ghana Premier League made me realize it isn’t too late for me to leave my mark before retiring”.

Coffie plied his trade for Power FC in August 2005 and joined Asante Kotoko in 2007.

He began his career for CD Leganes in 2010 before later moving back to the Ghana Premiere league to play for Medeama SC, Ashanti Gold and featured for Al–Merrikh SC in Sudan.
