Papa Amos-Abanyie, manager of team PhamtoM in the 2021-2022 edition of the GMABC Fantasy League proved resilience and aptitude to emerge a lucky winner of the robust but exciting competition.

He competed with over 16,000 managers and teams in the GMABC Fantasy League. After 38 game weeks of predictions, wildcards and lucky chip turn-ons earned himself a whooping Gh₵10,000.

Papa Amos-Abanyie recorded his debut in the 2019 edition of the GMABC Fantasy League, taking his shortcomings and lessons into the following season, he deservedly rose to the top of the standings with 2,724 total points, a few points ahead of the next-closest manager.

The avid admirer of the English League will not only receive Gh10,000 but also a champion’s trophy, as well as an all-expenses-paid getaway to any of Ghana’s premium hotels of his preference.

The proud manager, Papa Amos-Abanyie sharing his excitement disclosed that he decided to join the GMABC Fantasy League after a friend recommended the league to him. He noted that they decided to compete in the game and for him, the journey has been worth the try.

“I got to know about the GMABC Fantasy League through my roommate and we all decided to play and see how far we go and thankfully I am the winner. The league has been very fun but tough as well. I didn’t even know about the cash prize and it feels great winning money I didn’t expect.”

Sharing tips for other league participants, he noted that one must keep the momentum they start with, acquire players in good form and more importantly buy good penalty takers. “You also need to use your chips wisely, especially in double game weeks and monitor the teams of other participants,” he added.

Coordinator of the GMABC Fantasy League, Ohene Brenya-Bampoe shared that the GMABC Fantasy League reviewed on YFM Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi; Happy FM and e.TV Ghana is the best in the country, and the only league that rewards participants. “The GMABC Fantasy League is the only league where one can win a grand prize of Gh₵10,000, and Mobile Phones, Television Sets in monthly draws.

He shared that an unlimited number of people can join the GMABC Fantasy League and urged all to participate in the 2021/22 edition of the league.

The second through fifth place finishers on the leaderboard also received personalised jerseys and gift cards for stores.

The Fantasy League is a virtual game in which participants, who act as coaches, assemble a virtual team of real life footballers and score points based on those players’ actual statistical performance or their perceived contribution on the field of play.
