Great Olympics CEO, Oluboi Commodore, says the club will ask for compensation before they honor the game against Hearts of Oak in the Ga Mantse Cup.
The ‘Oly dade boys’ were set to face regional rivals Hearts of Oak in this ceremonial game to celebrate the Homowo.
However, Hearts of Oak wrote to the organizers for the postponement of the game at the eleventh hour stating the team was not ready to play the game.
Speaking in an interview on Wamputu Sports, Oluboi Commodore said,
“If we are not compensated we will not play. How can a team postpone the game and decide which day it should play. It’s a form of disrespect and Great Olympics will not tolerate it.
“We started preparations, booked a hotel and then on Friday we get the information that the game has been postponed”.
The organizers have fixed the game on August 28, 2022 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
