Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, has disclosed he used to work at the famous Accra Mall as a teen.

Reminiscing times before his fame and success, Patoranking travelled to Ghana to pursue his tertiary education at the reputable University of Cape Coast but, dropped out over high fees charged international students.

The musician moved to the capital, Accra to hustle and also pursue his music dream.

Sharing details of his humble beginnings in an interview with Kojo Manuel on Y107.9FM’s ‘Dryve Of Your Lyfe’ show, he said, “I came to Ghana when I was 17 years and I used to be working at the Accra Mall. I was working at a restaurant directly opposite Frankies at the time.”

Advising young ones out there with his story, he said, “Great things take time in life. Some people want the easy route but we choose the hard way because everything that comes quickly leaves in a similar fashion. But if you take time and work for it, that success will stay.”
