The Black Stars of Ghana defeated Switzerland 2-0 at the Zayed Sports City to wrap up their preparations ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

In a match that featured Premier League stars Granit Xhaka, Manuel Akanji, Denis Zakaria, and Bundesliga superstar goalie Jan Sommer, the Stars were dominant.

Tariq Lamptey, Salisu, and Inaki Williams were given the ball while Thomas Partey was placed on the sidelines.

In a match played in Abu Dhabi’s scorching weather, Salisu headed Ghana ahead from a corner kick before Antoine Semenyo pounced on a loose ball inside the area to score the second goal for the Black Stars.

Although the center referee denied what seemed to be a legitimate penalty claim to Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, the home-based forward capped a wonderful performance in the 62 minutes he was on the field of play.

Elisha Owusu of Gent and Samed Salis Abdul of Lens had an admirable midfield pairing, with the former Lyon academy player displaying flashes of quality while Thomas Partey sat on the sidelines.

The second half of the game saw the majority of the inspiring moments for the Black Stars, with Kamaldeen Sulemana’s speed and Kamal Sowah of Club Brugge’s technical prowess standing out.

The outcome has given Ghanaian supporters hope ahead of the World Cup’s opening match against Portugal
