GPLonHappyFM: Coach Shiabu Tanko hopes to guide Karela FC out of relegation zone

Newly appointed Karela FC Coach, Shiabu Tanko says his target is to ensure the team avoids relegation this season.

Shiabu Ibrahim Tanko replaced Bismark Kobi Mensah as head coach of the Ghana premier league Karela FC on a two-year contract.

Karela FC are currently placed 16th on the Premier League table with 16 points after match week 14.

Speaking on the current struggles and relegation fears of his new club ,Karela FC on Happy FM, coach Shaibu Tanko disclosed that, the necessary structures are being put in place by the club and himself to be able avoid relegation.


“The club and myself are putting in the necessary structures to first and foremost escape relation. That is our first objective and we will try to attain it within the shortest possible time of my contract,” he said on Wamputu Sports.


Coach Tanko also admitted his first game in charge against current league champions would be a real test and he is looking forward to it.


“Nowhere cool, everywhere is difficult except you know how to handle these difficulties, Kotoko is a big club by all standards but on the field of play, it is 11v11 and we are looking first to it” he added.

Karela fC will host league holders Asante kotoko on February 2nd at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park 15:00GMT.
