Renner, a Ghanaian female dancehall singer, claims that female dancehall artistes in Ghana are not given the platform they deserve.

According to her, as compared to men, she doesn’t think women are getting the necessary promotion and support they deserve.

In an interview with Akua Sika on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Evening Drive, she said, “I won’t downplay anyone’s efforts because you don’t know what people go through to bring out music. ” People face many challenges when it comes to releasing music, so others may have valid reasons for not promoting female artists, but it doesn’t make sense to me.”

Renner believes that if given the chance, female dancehall musicians can do more than men.

“Dancehall music is not stagnant, there’s a future for everything if you do it right. “”There are so many big talents in Ghanaian dancehall and reggae, so if we do things right, like having the right link-ups and the right channels to sell music, and all of that, then every genre, including dancehall, is good to go,” she emphasized.

She went on to say that female dancehall singers are doing their best and deserve platforms and genuine support.
