Assistant coach of the Black Stars, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has revealed why he often visits match venues to watch games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and lower divisions.

According to him, his technical team undertakes such assignments not only to identify talents but also to have a fair idea of what is happening, acquiring some knowledge on how football in Ghana is run.

In March, the former Asante Kotoko head coach, Didi Dramani was appointed with George Boateng to assist Chris Hughton, the Black Stars’ new head coach.

Chris Hughton promised he and his technical team will be watching more local football and also scout more home-based players for the senior national team.

“Some People might think we only watch just the league games but we watch beyond that. We are very observant of the grass root football and I go to match day venues of Division One, Division Two games and Premier League games just to have a fair knowledge of what is happening. We do not just observe things happening, but we also learn a thing or two about how things are managed,” Didi Dramani said in an exclusive interview on Happy98.9FM’s Happy Sports.

Didi Dramani acknowledged that it is the responsibility of the Black Stars technical team to identify talents on the local scene and are also highly motivated to do so.
