Eleven Wonders coach Logosu appeals to the GFA to lower coaching license fees

Head coach of Division One side, Eleven Wonders, Mensah Logosu has pleaded with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reduce the fees charged for local coaches who seek to acquire their coaching license A certificates.

According to him, the high cost of fees charged by the Association prevents many coaches in lower tier sides from obtaining these coaching license A certificates.

The New rates for the New CAF Convention for GFA Coaching Courses, specifically CAF License A is GHC 12,000.

Coach Logosu guided Techiman Eleven Wonders to the brink of Premier League return, but their dreams were snuffed out by Bofoakwa Tano in the playoffs after they lost on penalties.

Should his side have qualified for the top flight, he would have been unable to lead them as he holds a coaching license B.

In an interview with Happy98.9FM, Logosu lamented that many coaches like himself would like to coach the Black Stars one day, but are unable to do so due to the certificate requirements.

“ I currently have a coaching license B and would want to plead with the authorities to reduce the fees charged for acquiring a coaching license A. How much do we earn as coaches in this country? How much are Premier League coaches paid? I’m still owed by my club but I‘m very focused on my job. Many coaches are complaining about the fees charged for acquiring a coaching license A. We want to also help the country and one day coach the senior national team”.

“ If you look at the kind of football being played in the Ghana Premier League now, it’s no more attractive but if you look at the Division One coaches coming up, we are all ready to learn to improve the game,” he added.
