Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana (LEGON), Dr. Abena A. Yeboah- Banin, is optimistic that Ghana’s way to a thriving economy would start from PR professionals who can send the right message amidst the present state of the economy.

Speaking at the Global Media Alliance World P.R Day PR X Economy slush event which was held at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, the PR professional indicated that communication is a key factor in most day- to-day affairs of the nation’s economy which demanded that skilled people are positioned to strategically communicate

She acknowledged that PR professionals and Communication personnel as skilled individuals must ensure that Ghanaians accept the state of the economy and find ways together as a holistic movement to make economic stability possible. “The dark patch on the economy will not pass away in one day; PR and communication professionals must focus on storytelling that needs to be done to let the people of the nation see that this dark patch will pass.” She stated.

She encouraged PR industry players to stand together and change the narrative, which she believes will automatically recalibrate the thinking pattern of Ghanaian natives. “Instead for searching for our passports and finding our individuals ways out of the nation, PR people could rally and build the economy together with all national entities.” she shared.
