Communications Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Charles Amofa has shared the level of progress being made by the ministry in its efforts to improve sports fracture in the country.

According to him, the ministry led by the sports minister, Mustapha Ussif is set to soon commission six youth resource centers set up in ten regions in the country as part of promises made to improve the sector.

As the country prepares to participate in the 2023 African Para Games, he reiterated the Ministry’s interest in renovating sports facilities in the country.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, Charles Amofa also highlighted the ministry’s position in the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) recent partnership with the French Football Federation (FFF) through the France Embassy to develop women’s football in Ghana.

The project which is being funded by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in France will have young players, referees, coaches and technical personnel go through a series of training and exchange programs in Ghana and France to perfect their skills in various fields.

According to Mr. Amofa, such an initiative is laudable and the ministry is ready to support in any way possible.

He acknowledged that countries like Senegal and others have benefited from such initiatives, and Ghana can benefit as well.
