Assistant coach of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has clarified reports surrounding the Black Galaxies coaching job after it was declared vacant.

In reports circulating, coach Didi Dramani is said to have been appointed as the new gaffer of Ghana’s Black Galaxies after the sacking of coach Annor Walker who led the team to book qualification for the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) but failed to glitter in Algeria.

The Black Galaxies were booted out after their defeat in the quarterfinals stage of the tournament. Which eventually led to coach Walker’s removal.

However, according to Didi Dramani, he was already appointed head coach of the Black Galaxies but had to forfeit the role for a short time due to other national assignments.

Clearing the air about the issue during an interview on Happy FM, Didi Dramani said, “The Black Galaxies coaching role was already part of my duties including my role as assistant coach of the Black Stars”.This isn’t something new, maybe it is to the media. I had other engagements after the World Cup in Qatar and we also know, I was the head of football at Right to Dream Academy. So in other to serve the country and execute my national duties, I decided to take a two-year leave without salary”.

Since assuming his duties as head coach of the Black Galaxies, coach Didi Dramani and his technical team have called up different groups of players for screening and training at the Ghanaman Center of Excellence at Prampram.

The first and second batch of players are confirmed to have reported to the Centre of Excellence earlier this week with the other batches set to report in the coming days.

Players who originally are in the current Youth teams (U23 and U20) have been excluded yet monitoring will be ongoing with a comprehensive database created for purposes of continuous monitoring of players to make room for moments of players export or need for urgent replacement in the Black stars from a domestic import-proximity wise.
