
Government has declared Friday, August 4, 2023, as a Statutory Public Holiday to be observed nationwide.
The day is celebrated as Founders’ Day to honor the efforts of Ghana’s founding fathers, especially the “Big Six,” who were instrumental in the nation’s fight for independence.
Ambrose Dery, the Interior Minister announced the public holiday in a press statement.
His statement emphasized the importance of remembering and honouring the historical significance of Founders’ Day, urging all citizens to take part in commemorating the nation’s heroes and their tremendous sacrifices.
