Ghanaian stand up comedian, Derick Kobina Bonney known by all as DKB, has disclosed why he doesn’t keep his money in a bank.

He revealed that sometime ago he read a book a written by Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump titled ‘The reason why I want you to be rich’ and it made him realize that if you have a large sum of money in the bank, and you can use it for business it’s better to use it for the business than keep it in the bank.

He told Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s ‘Obra Yi’s Edition’ of ‘Nsem Pii’ “After reading that book, I concluded that I’ll never keep my money in the bank again because it made me understand that the bank was using my money for business”.

He emphasized if he ever keeps his money in a bank, it is because he’s waiting to use it for another business and even with that, he doesn’t keep it in his savings but buys treasury bills so that when he’s ready to come for his money in about three months, he will have a little above what he invested.

“So I never have money in my account till I’m waiting to put it into another business. However my net worth is good. That book really thought me how the banking sector works and in the end, the bank always benefits more than you that is why they are able to use your money to pay their bank managers and top officials,” he stated.

The comedian disclosed that aside comedy, he does a lot of things that brings him money but he doesn’t talk about them because he has too many enemies.

“I’m more than people know me for, and that is because I don’t expose too much of me. This is because growing up I got a lot of enemies for no reason, and in this life when you have a lot of enemies you have to keep things to yourself”.
