Randy Abbey, Kwesi Appiah, Federick Acheampong, and Co elected as Premier League representatives on GFA ExCo

In a significant development at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey, Kwesi Appiah, Federick Acheampong, and several other notable figures have been elected as representatives on the GFA Executive Committee (ExCo). The results were announced today, October 5th, following a rigorous voting process during the GFA Elective Congress.

After the meticulous counting of votes, the following candidates secured their positions on the GFA ExCo:

  1. Frederick Acheampong – 11 votes
  2. Raphael Gyamera – 7 votes
  3. Edmond Ackah – 8 votes
  4. Anthony Aubyn – 7 votes
  5. Kingsley Osei Bonus – 9 votes
  6. Oduro Sarfo – 10 votes
  7. Randy Abbey – 12 votes
  8. James Kwasi Appiah – 10 votes
  9. Kwabena Asenso – 7 votes
  10. Elloeny Amande – 9 votes

However, the contest was fierce, and two candidates, Elloeny Amande and Kingsley Osei Bonus affectionately known as Zico, both garnered 9 votes each. As a result, there was another elective congress to determine the representative for this position to which Zico emerged victorious.

This election marks a crucial step in shaping the future of Ghanaian football, as these individuals will play a vital role in the management and decision-making processes within the GFA.

Meanwhile, FIFA sent a strong delegation to monitor events in the Northern Regional capital.

Earlier, GFA president Kurt Okraku retained his seat as President of the federation after receiving 97.1% of votes, with only two people voting against his retention.
