Worldwide, October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as part of activities to mark this years’ Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company has put together series of events aimed at sensitizing employees and the general public about early detection, treatment and measures to prevent breast cancer.

Under the theme ‘’Thrive 365,” staff of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company are encouraged to wear various shades of pink throughout the month of October especially on ,’PINk THURSDAY’ or add a touch of pink to their clothing daily to create awareness on breast cancer and its impact on women and men.

As part of the awareness campaign, a free breast cancer screening will be held at the premises of GMABC in Asylum Down by a Medical team from Impact Clinic and a partnership program with Happy98.9FM’s ‘Happy On Wheels’ show to diagnose market women and the general public on the dreadful disease.

A Breast Cancer survivor will also be invited to clear the misconceptions people have about breast cancer, share her intriguing story of how she acquired the disease and how she went through surgery with listeners and staff of GMABC on Happy98.9FM’s Nsempii show. Another exciting but more critical segment will be the conversation with a health practitioner on the need for early detection, self-testing, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer on Happy98.9FM’s ‘Happy Morning Show’ every Friday throughout the month of October.

Director of Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company, Timothy said, “the campaign to create awareness on breast cancer is part of GMABC’s Corporate Social Responsibility and I hope the general public and employees will fully benefit from the sensitization and in-house breast screening exercise. Breast cancer treatment can be effective when detected early, I hope employees and the general takes advantage of this initiative to get screened. It grants a survivor another shot to live healthy. This is the moment to come together and give patients and survivors the love and care they need.
