The New Ghana Social Justice Forum (NGSJF) led by its President, Yahaya Alhassan, organized a protest today, 19 October in front of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) head office. The purpose? to demand the immediate resignation and prosecution of all officials associated with the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) company.

Addressing a gathering, Mr. Alhassan firmly declared, “We are here to publicly and nationally present our petition to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) for the resignation and prosecution of all BOST officials. Silence is betrayal, silence is a crime; we are calling for their prosecution.”

The demonstration, which drew a significant number of concerned citizens, aimed not only at the removal of the BOST Board but also at the prosecution of top BOST officials. Mr. Alhassan emphasized that the demonstration sought to create national awareness about the pressing issue of corruption that has plagued Ghana.

This action comes after a series of alleged irregularities and corruption within BOST, a state-owned company responsible for the storage and transportation of petroleum products in Ghana. The NGSJF and its supporters strongly believe that it is essential to hold those responsible for these alleged wrongdoings accountable.

The petition presented to the NPA details the numerous grievances of the New Ghana Social Justice Forum, whose members argue that the actions of BOST officials have had a detrimental impact on the nation’s economic well-being and reputation.

The NPA officials, who received the petition, failed to comment on the development. The fate of the BOST officials and the future of the state-owned oil company now hang in the balance, pending a careful examination of the allegations.
