The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has stepped forward to bolster the efforts of the Black Queens as they strive to secure qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Under the guidance of GOC President Ben Nuunu Mensah, the GOC has provided substantial financial assistance to the women’s national team. This year alone, they have extended a generous sum of 8,990 dollars, and, in a recent act of extraordinary support, a substantial 22,300 dollars to facilitate the Black Queens’ journey to the Olympic Games.

This financial boost comes at a crucial juncture for the Black Queens as they gear up for the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Second Round. The first leg of this critical encounter will see Ghana face Benin in Cotonou at the GMK Stadium on October 27, 2023.

The second leg of this encounter will unfold on October 31, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium. This will be a defining moment for the Black Queens as they look to clinch their spot in the prestigious 2024 Paris Olympics.

President Ben Nuunu Mensah expressed his optimism regarding the Black Queens’ chances and also wished them the best of luck in their upcoming matches against Benin.

This financial support from the Ghana Olympic Committee not only exemplifies the nation’s commitment to women’s football but also highlights the importance of ensuring equal opportunities and resources for female athletes.

The Black queens will be hoping to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for the first time the country’s history.
