Ghana’s Under-17 male football team, the Black Starlets, will travel to Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania on Friday, March 31,  as they step up their preparations towards the 2017 African Championship to be held in Gabon in May.

The Starlets will on April 3, be hosted by their Tanzanian counterparts in a friendly to help Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin identify the weakness in his team which he and his technical team will need to work on before their trip to Gabon.

The Starlets have not been able to shine in Africa in their recent campaigns and Coach Fabin has indicated that they are keen on reversing that trend and rediscovering their fine form in Africa and then, the world.

Ghana are drawn in Group A where they play hosts, Gabon who replaced the initial hosts, Madagascar, as well as Guinea and Cameroun in the May 14 to 28 competition.

The Starlets are setting a semi-final target for themselves in Gabon, as they hope to secure one of the four tickets to the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Championship to be staged in India later in the year.
