Edem reportedly faces trial in court for knocking and killing woman

Ghanaian rapper, Denning Edem Hotor, known as Edem within music circles, is reportedly facing trail today, December 11,2023 for knocking down a woman on the George Walker Bush Highway on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Reports indicate that the rapper was driving a Honda Touring vehicle with the registration number, GX 3011-19 at 2:00AM that day.

The victim, as reports say, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Police Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical doctor on duty.

According to court documents, the woman, met her untimely demise as a 40 year old.

The ‘Nyedzilo’ hitmaker appeared before the court presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo and was charged with two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm.

Edem who was a guest on a late night television program at Abeka junction the night before, presented his plea before the court but was rejected and has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties.

The next hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024.
