‘Manage your expectations of Chris Hughton’ – Didi Dramani warns Ghanaians

In a significant development following the recent verbal attack on Ghana’s head coach, Chris Hughton, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has successfully identified the supporter responsible for the assault.

The assailant, whose name has not been disclosed, targeted Coach Hughton at the team hotel after Ghana’s 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

According to a source close to Happy Sports at the FA, the association confirmed the identification of the individual involved. Without explicitly mentioning specific details, the source reports that the GFA is taking decisive steps to address the matter internally.

While the GFA has refrained from revealing the identity of the assailant, the public is assured including the coaching staff that the necessary actions would be taken once the individual is within the jurisdiction of Ghana. The GFA’s stance on maintaining the integrity of the team and ensuring the safety of its members was reiterated in their commitment to handling the situation appropriately.

As the GFA works closely with local authorities to navigate the legal aspects of the incident, the focus remains on providing a secure environment for the team.

The Black Stars gear up for their upcoming Group B matches against Egypt and Mozambique and is determined to secure qualification from their group, aiming to steer clear of a repeat of the unfortunate outcomes experienced in the tournament last year. They are currently bottom of their Group.
