The Office of the Special Prosecutor, has announced the successful closure of high-profile cases and the unwavering pursuit of justice in the ongoing investigation of 152 cases.

In its fourth Half-Yearly Report, covering the period from July 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, the Office showcased its commitment to combating corruption and holding wrongdoers accountable.

The Office reported the successful closure of several high-profile cases, reiterating its commitment to unraveling corruption and ensuring justice prevails.

Notably, the investigation into the alleged attempted bribery of the majority caucus of the Parliament of Ghana by an undisclosed well-known and wealthy businessman has been concluded.

Equally noteworthy is the resolution of the case involving the former Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen. “This case, as exposed in the investigative documentary titled “Galamsey Economy,” published by the renowned Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his associates operating under the corporate name of Tiger Eye P.I., has been successfully concluded,” the OSP statement indicated.

While celebrating these victories, the Office also disclosed its ongoing investigations into over 152 cases at various stages.

Among these cases, the Office is delving into the intricate details of contractual arrangements between Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited-SML, a registered company in Ghana, and the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Additionally, the investigation into the appropriation, sale and lease of state-owned lands and properties to individuals and corporate bodies since 1993 underscores the Office’s commitment to addressing historical injustices and ensuring accountability for past actions.

Special prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng emphasized that these investigations showcase the Office’s dedication to rooting out corruption at all levels and holding individuals and entities accountable for their actions.
