President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared that Africa is far too rich to be deemed poor, emphasizing the continent’s vast natural and human resources.

In an address at the second edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues in Peduase, Eastern region, the President of the Rebublic of Ghana expressed confidence in Africa’s potential to transform itself into a global powerhouse.

President Akufo-Addo highlighted Africa’s abundance of natural resources, including oil, gas, minerals, and an abundance of sunlight.

He stressed that Africa possesses 65 percent of all arable land globally, making it capable of feeding 9 billion people by 2030. The President also drew attention to the youthful population, describing it as a valuable asset for the continent’s future.

“We all know that Africa is blessed, Africa is not a poor continent, in fact, she is too rich to be poor,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

He expressed optimism about realizing the continent’s six-decade dream of a united Africa, pointing to the readiness of the private sector for economic cooperation through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The President highlighted the importance of economic integration, emphasizing the need to facilitate the free movement of people, goods, and services across the continent.

He further commended the private sector’s eagerness to contribute to the realization of the United Africa dream, focusing on economic integration.

“I’m now encouraged that Africa now has a private sector that is ready, deliberate, and eager to see that the 60-year-old dream of the United Africa manifests,” President Akufo-Addo added.

Calling on all stakeholders to contribute to building a stronger Africa, he stressed the significance of turning prospects into productivity for the prosperity of the people.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his excitement and pride in hosting the Africa Prosperity Dialogue, an initiative aimed at fostering understanding, dialogue, and commitment to the African Continental Free Trade Area Initiative.
