The Local Organizing Committee of the African Games has held a media training for journalists ahead of the 13th edition of the Continental showpiece.

The event held at the Sun Lodge hotel in Accra saw over 100 journalists gather to be educated on the do’s and don’ts of covering an international tournament.

Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif who graced the event urged journalists to tone down on the negativity and use the opportunity to market the brand Ghana.

“This is the time for us to sell our country Ghana and not over emphasized on the negativity. The whole of Africa will be coming here in March so we should give them a good show,” the Minister said.

Veteran sports journalists, Karl Tuffuor, Kwabena Yeboah and Rosalind Amoh also graced the event to share their experiences with young folks on how to cover international tournament such as the African Games.

The 13th African Games will be held from Friday, March 8, – Saturday, March 23, 2024, in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast.
