Mediamark Ghana, the 1st subsidiary of Mediamark South Africa in the West African sub-region, has held its second Thought Leader event at the Champs Sports Bar, Paloma Hotel.
The event, themed ‘The Case Studies’, showcased some of the innovative ways through which Mediamark and the GMABC Brands – YFM, Happy FM and e.TV Ghana, have been able to position and execute clients’ campaigns. Selected clients were given the opportunity at the event, to share their learnings from some of these value-for-money activations Mediamark has been executing with them.

As a media sales house, Mediamark aims to distinguish itself by coming up with creative ways to engage their clients. The Mediamark Thought Leader Series is one of the pioneering ways through which the agencies and clients engage in order to share learnings and experiences, and also identify their needs so as to best satisfy them.
Commenting on the event, Mervyn Naidu, General Manager of Mediamark Ghana, said, “For us, our satisfaction is in being able to identify our clients’ needs and to provide them with the best media solutions to have an optimum impact on their businesses. It is not
just about running adverts for clients, it is about having the client’s interest at heart, and building a solid, mutually beneficial working relationship.’’

“We take these engagements very seriously because it affords us the opportunity to get some honest feedback which in turn helps us to continue to innovate and improve upon our services to them. We look forward to more of these engagements as we intend to execute at least three episodes every year,’’ Mr Naidu stated.
The first edition of the Thought Leader series, was held in November 2016 at the African Regent Hotel, and themed ‘Get Radio on your Radar’. The event addressed some of the creative ways that businesses could use radio to promote brands. Speakers at the event were George Andah, Founder & CEO – Rudder Solutions, Bright Ladzekpo, MD/CEO – PHD Ghana and Nick Grubb – Chief Executive, Radio – Kagiso Media, South Africa. It also marked Mediamark’s one year of operations in Ghana.
In Ghana, Mediamark represents a range of major radio, television, digital and eventing media channels. These include e.tv Ghana, a free-to-air terrestrial television network, YFM, a youth-based radio brand with separate broadcasts in Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi and Happy FM, a popular, sports-focused talk radio station.
