Former Ghanaian midfielder Agyemang Badu has thrown his weight behind Dreams FC, predicting a historic victory for the Ghanaian side over North African giants Zamalek this Sunday in the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup semi-finals.

Dreams FC held Zamalek to a goalless draw in the first leg played last Sunday in Cairo, leaving the tie wide open heading to Kumasi for the return match on April 28.

In an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene Bampoe Brenya, Badu lauded the structure and impressive journey of Dreams FC in the competition. “There is a proper structure in place at Dreams FC,” Badu said. “The work being done by the Management, technical team and playing body has been remarkable. I am very confident that come this Sunday in Kumasi, they will qualify for the finals and fly high the flag of Ghana.”

Dreams FC will need to maintain their defensive resilience and potentially score an away goal to overcome Zamalek, who were wasteful in front of goal during the first leg.

The tie presents a golden opportunity for the Ghanaian club to make history by reaching the finals of the prestigious continental competition.

The last time this milestone was achieved, Hearts of Oak and Kotoko faced off in an all-Ghana final, with the Phobians emerging victorious.

Dreams FC’s journey in the competition has been remarkable having exceeded expectations despite it being their debut season.

After clinching the FA Cup title, they have defied the odds prevailing in every stage including the preliminary level where they edged, Milo FC and Kallon FC.
