Happy 98.9 FM has elevated its community engagement event dubbed, Happy on Wheels to a whole new level, and the Dome Market edition is a testament to this.

On Thursday, April 25 2024, Happy FM assembled a host of stakeholders, ranging from the Dome Zonal Council, NPP-Dome, NDC-Dome, traders of the Dome market National Democratic Congress’ Parliamentary Candidate and New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate representatives, spokespersons from Ga East Municipal Assembly, market women and a host of other community members at the Dome Market.

It was a gathering of “diverse opinions ” as stakeholders shared their opinions on different issues-politics, health and sanitation, flooding, and infrastructure development which affect community members of the Dome Kwabenya Constituency.

In response to the issues highlighted by the market women, the Developmental Planning Officer of Ga East Municipal Assembly, Mohammed Mubeen indicated that the Municipal Assembly is unaware of most of the issues raised by the market women, emphasizing the Assembly’s willingness to address them as soon as it is brought to their attention.
“We will take the sheds from them as soon as you report them. We need to ensure things are done well and all market women are treated fairly,” he made this statement after market women complained about market stalls being assigned to them based on political affiliations, leaving persons not tied to particular political parties without any.

On his part, the Assembly member for Taifa South revealed that most of the challenges they face with flooding are a result of indiscipline on the part of residents in the community. He used the opportunity to plead with residents to keep the environment clean to avoid contracting diseases.

The atmosphere at the Dome Market was charged as representatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) were given the platform to provide their party’s plans and vision for the constituency. The exchange of ideas provided residents with insights that will enable them to make informed decisions on Election Day.

Programmes Manager for Happy 98.9 FM, Kwabena Ampong, expressed gratitude to residents of Dome Kwabenya for their active participation. He reiterated the station’s commitment to organizing more programs to bring people together to discuss key issues and find lasting solutions.

”We are extremely pleased with the response and active participation from the Dome-Kwabenya constituency and we believe that by coming together and addressing these issues collectively, we will create the country we wish to see”
