Ghanaian sprint legend, Eric Nkansah has claimed that the over concentration on the Black Stars by the State at the expense of other sporting disciplines is the reason for the team’s struggles.

Eric Nkansah who was advocating for logistical support for the athletes team ahead of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers said the other sporting disciplines don’t wish the Black Stars well because all the resources are given to them while they suffer.

He stressed the country loves football but it is not a justification to put all the resources behind them without taking care of the other sporting disciplines.

“They should also take care of the other sports and not only the Black Stars. If you have many children and you concentrate all your resources on only one child, that child will not even succeed because his other siblings are not at peace and will not wish to see him/her prosper.”

“That is why our Black Stars is struggling to achieve anything. We all love football but doesn’t mean we should give them all our resources at the expense of other sporting disciplines,” Eric Nkansah told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports.

He added that “we have a strong team to compete in the World Relay Competition and we will also support them in prayers to finish amongst the top 15 countries to be able to qualify for the Games.”
