The Gomoa East NDC Communication Bureau is calling for the dismissal of the Gomoa East District NADMO director, Robert Hackman, over the unprecedented flooding which severely affected some communities in the district.According to them, the NADMO director has exhibited gross incompetence since his assumption of office.A press statement signed by the communication Officer for Gomoa East Constituency, Kofi Michael Omoanoh revealed that the NADMO director who doubles as Operations Director of the same construction company that accused of causing the floods is not acknowledging and accepting, he failed to ensure the contractor did the right but is instead blaming river god’s.The statement further said, it is the negligence of the director that has caused havoc to the affected communities, leaving numerous homes flooded, submerging over 150 houses and making portions of the Accra-Winneba highway a risk to users.”The fact that Mr Hackman serves as both the NADMO Director and the operations Director of the construction company responsible for the flood is alarming and raises concerns. After causing this havoc, the construction company may be contracted to mitigate the predicament resulting in additional expenses from NADMO funds. If Mr Hackman understood his core mandate as the District NADMO Director, he should have foreseen on the first day the river was diverted that would spell doom for the residents in the affected communities and advice the contractor to take appropriate action “.They added that Mr Hackman has shown that he is unfit for his position because the same road under construction has hectic vehicular traffic at Gomoa Buduburam with no alternative routes.”The gross incompetence exhibited by the contractors on the Buduburam -Winneba Junction stretch of the road gives us reason to worry that these contractors may be NPP foot soldiers given contracts to achieve their slogan “NPP Party no hia sika”( to wit, the party needs money) without having the necessary qualification and expertise” the statement emphasized. The NDC is asking that Robert Hackman should answer the following questions 1. Is Robert Hackman also one of the men NPP claims to have?2. As District NADMO Director, does he know it is part of his core mandate to ensure that the contractors do things right to avoid creating toxic atmosphere ?3. When did Robert Hackman realize that the three god’s he spoke about were unhappy with the projects ?
