Eid-Ul-Adha, a prominent Islamic holiday, is formally recognized as a public holiday in Ghana. As this year’s celebration falls on a Sunday, the government has exercised its executive authority to declare the subsequent Monday a public holiday, providing an additional day of observance and rest for the populace, as stipulated by the Executive Instrument (E.I).

The Minister stressed that Monday, June 17, be universally observed as a holiday nationwide, affording all Ghanaians the opportunity to actively participate in the festivities, cultural events, and religious practices that commemorate this important Islamic holiday.
