The Electricity Company of Ghana in collaboration with the Police service has arrested over 10 suspected people involved in illegal connection and fake meter installation at Buduburam.

Mr Samuel Affum Mensah, Operation foreman for Kasoa South District of the ECG told the media that they carried this operation because they have realized that whenever customers meters are disconnected over debt, they reconnect the meter and use electricity without paying whiles some have also done illegal connections.

According to him, the kasoa South District of the ECG decided to form a task force to revisit communities whose lights have been disconnected after two weeks and check the recalcitrant customers and with the support of the police, those defaulters were apprehended.

” Those defaulters would be processed and appear before the law court for the law to take it course which will serve as lesson to others”.

He advised customers to channel their problems to the nearest ECG office for solutions and desist from acts that can lead them to prison.
