Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Pius Hadzide has reacted to calls for his resignation over uncompleted Multipurpose Sports Complexes scattered across the country.

Only 1 out of the 10 Multipurpose Sports Complexes that were started in 2018 under the current government has been completed with the others currently being left to rot despite investing over $4 million into the project.

Reacting to calls for his resignation in an interview with Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy Sports, Pius Hadzide who apologized for the delay in the completion of the projects attributed the delay to financial constraint.

He said that the money needed to complete the project is neither others in his pocket nor sitting on his desk so the calls for his resignation cannot be justified.

“The problem we are facing now is money. Funds are not available so the people calling for my resignation are they saying that the money is in my pocket and I have decided not to use it for the project or not?

“I just said that now we are getting a breakthrough because the money will be released and we will finish the project,” Pius told Happy Sports.
