President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed concern about the alarming rise in HIV infections among the youth in Ghana and has vowed that his government will take decisive action to reverse this trend.

In a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Health, led by Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, and Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) team, the President lamented the high rate of HIV/AIDS in the country, acknowledging that it poses a significant challenge for his government and the nation as a whole.

However, he also expressed optimism, noting that due to the tireless efforts of the Ministry of Health, Ghana is likely to host an International Conference on AIDS and STI’s in Africa (ICASA), a testament to the country’s commitment to combating the disease.
