Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has opened up about her decade-long battle with fibroids, recounting the pain she endured until she finally sought and received the help she needed.

Sharing her own experience during Fibroids Month in a post on X, she highlighted that many women are facing similar pain but are unable to share and emphasized on the importance of coming out to speak on such topics.

“July is Fibroid Awareness Month To the women who’ve had to live in constant pain, multiple surgeries, questions about children, if you’re pregnant because of how you look, or the fear that you never will; you’re not alone. I lived in pain for 10 years before I got help.

“Today I’m grateful that I don’t have to live in so much pain, grateful that no one else will find me on a bathroom floor too paralyzed to move. Grateful that I don’t have to be rushed into an emergency and even more grateful that I’m alive to share my story when some aren’t” she shared.

Lydia Forson’s account of her experience with fibroids is more intricate than the summary provided.

She encourages women who may be reading her story to pursue medical tests, inquire about their bodies, and find solidarity in knowing they are not alone in facing such issues.
