Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 election Campaign, Denis Miracles Aboagye has revealed that Dr Bawumia’s proposal to abolish tax on bet and E-Levy before cabinet was rejected.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia is not the only person in Government and he is also not the President to take ultimate decisions by himself.
In an interview on an Accra based Tv station, Miracles Aboagye emphasized that Dr Bawumia has made Noise on this tax on betting and E-Levy several times to be taken away but the final decision lies with the President.
“There is collective responsibility for cabinet members to debate on proposals at cabinet meetings but the ultimate responsibility is with the President either to agree or disagree. Even though I speak for the government it is not every decision that I agree with but I take collective responsibility because when government takes ultimate decisions, you become part of it in as much you disagree with the decision, he explained.
